Just been scoping this years awesome lineup for the 2010 Offset event in Dublin this October. One of the speakers is David O’Reilly who just blew me away with this beautiful piece of work -

A 10 minute about a troubled relationship between a Cat and Mouse set in a wonderfully abstract and surreal future.
The film won the Golden Bear for best short at the 2009 Berlinale, the Cartoon D’or and several other awards. In 2010 it was given a distinction of cultural significance by the German ratings agency FBW.

If you haven’t heard of Mr Bingo, then shame on you. And shame on me for not blogging his awesomeness sooner.

You can currently find his instantly recognisable style amongst other at the Pick Me Up exhibition on at Somerset House, but you’ll have to be quick, it’ll all be wrapped up by 3rd May.

From the colourful art scene in Bristol comes a rather unique exhibiton Tease Made, from artists Peskimo and Chris Dickason to help celebrate “the social rituals, history, iconography and biscuit dunking goodness of enjoying a cup of tea”, and about time too.

From this Friday, 19th March you can enjoy a nice cuppa with a biscuit or two, and admire graphic print, painting, illustrations and three dimensional pieces from established, and up and coming artists in the South West, all for a new art space Start.

Tease Made will be running from March 19 through to April 9 at Start, 7-9 Baldwin St, Bristol, BS1 1RU.

Banksy is now going to be showing his ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop’ film in a specially set-up make shift theatre – the Lambeth Palace. The theatre will also hold some of his other work which also featured at the recent Banksy Vs Bristol Museum event. Of course though, it’s sold out. Sorry way too slow this time.

Banksy artwork/graffiti has been popping up across Utah ahead of the Sundance Film Festival at which he is due to premiere his documentary film ‘Exit through the Gift Shop‘ where it will be shown as the Spotlight Suprise. Should be interesting.

I’ve got to admit, I absolutely love Lost, and from it’s official podcast I found out about this neat ‘underground’ initiative for an art project based around the TV show as it draws to the last season. The podcast doesn’t really do the artwork justice at all, but if you head over to damoncarltonandapolarbear and lostundergroundartshow you may find yourself pleasantly suprised by the quality and range of styles being used to interpretate the show.

In particular I find the above image by Austrailan illustrator Ken Taylor absolutely breathtaking graphically, with such strong use of colour and composition. Also really enjoying the Locke and Hurley vinyl styled toys. It’s great to see a TV show bringing out such a creative and artisic movement.

I hope you are reading carefully. From November 18 – March 14, The Design Museum, London will be hosting the exhibiton ‘Dieter Rams Less and More‘. A must for anyone with a love of design, the exhibition will showcase Rams’ inspirational designs for Braun and Vitsœ, as well as assessing his lasting influence…

Recently went to the ever so popular Banksy Vs Bristol Museum exhibition. I was suprised with the amount and range of work Banksy had created over the years. Traditionally famous for his graffiti pieces, here the exhibition covers everything from statues, paintings, installations, and animatronics. I'd be interested how the museum carries on with its burst of popularity when the exhibition ends on the 31 August. I read that only 2 members from the museum where in on it.
