Recently pitched to a client for an idea to use imagery which could be projected through a digital screen, and allow the public to interact with it. Then just recently came across this amazing LED video wall in Montreal which interacts with the public, causing different visual lighting patterns according to movement. I love the vibrancy captured here in the video as well as all the bright visual formations created simply by movement, resulting in giving people a real relationship with the urban area.

Moment Factory developed the interactive system and designed the interactive content which uses 35,000 LED light bulbs to help create this unique urban experience.

I really hope this will be going into mass production soon, anything which involves receiving an unsuspecting twenty-five foot sandwich for the odd dollar gets my vote for campaign of the year.

Definition have created a nice piece of viral buzz for Coca Cola. Carrying on with the excellent happiness factory theme, American college students got to experience several 500ml pieces of the happiness and more, in the form of “the happiness machine”. What works so well here is the focus on the students reactions, there is nothing but big smiles and good times had by all. Job done.

What did I get for Christmas you ask? Unfortunately it wasn’t a Mini Cooper in Mini giant packaging…

Some great ambient advertising from the guys at Ubachswisbrunjwt/JWT Amsterdam for Mini Cooper. I’m sticking to my belief though that this isn’t just a witty piece of advertising and instead the people of Holland could actually pick up the cars in giant boxes packaged as gifts.

So apparently 2010 is the year we’ll all be going turquoise, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise to be precise. Pantone are shouting about it in a pretty big way too (read their press release here); according to the colour Gods “Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing.”
Sounds like 2010 is going to be a cracking year…

Personally I can see the colour probably working well in product design and perhaps fashion but I’m keeping an open mind about seeing it in print and how this will work out in web RGB, is anyone’s guess, but we’ll just see in a year’s time…

Meanwhile I’m celebrating by getting myself set with some of the above trainers, maybe some turquoise lipstick, and hanging out with this crazy cat.

What a nice concept to get people off lazy escaltors and using the stairs again in an interesting and fun way. Check out the The fun theory for a couple other fun video’s (English site coming soon). Only critism is the tie-in to Volkswagon, a shame this couldn’t have been done by an independent group seeking for these fun alternatives and not some advertising. Still, you can’t knock them for giving these fun-times.

Classic. Love seeing these little guys come to life thanks to Kevin Ledo sticking comedy googly eyes on the most inanimate objects we would never notice. More creative vandalism like this please…
